NEoN Digital Arts is proud to be part of ‘16 Days of Activism to End gender-based violence’ campaign again this year, partnering with WRASAC, Cake or Dice, Dundee Women’s Aid and Abertay Games Lab. 16 Days is an international campaign to challenge violence against women and girls. TH campaign runs every year from 25th November, the International Day for the Elimination ofViolence against Women, to 10th December, Human Rights Day. This year’s theme for Dundee is‘Imagine if Dundee said No More’. Join us to call for the elimination of digital bias and online violence against women and girls. Gender-Based Violence is not a women’s problem… It’s a HUMAN problem.

WRASAC at V&A Dundee #BelieveUsDundee

Join WRASAC (Women’s Rape And Sexual Abuse Centre) NEoN Digital Arts and others for an evening of information sharing, and looking at the difference they have made for survivors in Dundee and Angus over the last 40 years. There will be a banner making session and a range of services giving information and workshops. NEoN will be facilitating a Zine making session on the night, around the theme of ‘if we could rewrite the internet, what would an online digital safe space look like? The zine making session will be drop in, and free to attend.

16 Days: Game On
An interactive evening with Cake or Dice, DWA, WRASAC, Abertay Games Lab and NEoN Digital Arts
Friday 6th December, 5-9pm, drop in

Join us for an informal and engaging evening at Cake or Dice to focus on creativity, digital and in-person communities, and gendered perspectives. Drop-in anytime between 5pm to 9pm to try out games, sit with a hot drink and have safe and open discussions, and get involved with creative workshops, such as bracelet making in the comfort of the amazing Cake or Dice space. There will also be a showcase of local independent games, the board game Right 2 Roam,as well as videogames, Observed and Period sis. Right 2 Roam, created by Mona Bozdog and Robin Sloan, Right 2 Roam is an intentionallyimbalanced boardgame that mirrors the unfairness and inequity of walking alone at night.

Period sis by Alice Kerr. Period Sis is a series of vignette mini games that explore various aspects of experiencing periods. You’ll also have the chance to learn more about being an active bystander and add to our interactive timeline highlighting the history of Dundee Women’s Aid and key local and national milestones.

The exhibition and workshop space in NEoN will present work by artists and community groups around the themes of 16 days, throughout the night. Whether you’re into games, creativity, or just curious, this relaxed and welcoming event is open to all – come play, create, and get involved!
