NEoN creates opportunities for collaboration and spontaneity and will always push beyond expectations. Our program of international and regional artistic exchanges aims to nurture diverse grass-roots art of the region whilst drawing in the art world’s most interesting talent.
Over the years, many volunteers have worked with NEoN in many different ways, via school or university work placements, through academic research programmes or with people interested in helping us to reach our charitable aims. Reflecting the diversity and complexity of the digital and technology-driven art scene, the volunteer voices of our community are valued and reflected in the makeup of our organisation and our programme. We strive to include a multitude of voices and perspectives in the planning and implementation of our artistic work and operations.
NEoN is registered with the Saltire Awards. The Saltire Awards are the Scottish Government’s way of celebrating, recognising and rewarding the commitment, contribution and achievements of young volunteers in Scotland, aged between 12 and 25. Young people gain nationally recognised certificates, signed by Scottish Government Ministers, for their different amounts of volunteering.
NEoN has achieved its Volunteer Friendly Award from Volunteer Dundee, an independent voluntary organisation that provides a ‘Volunteer Centre’ service in Dundee. Volunteer Dundee exists to involve more people more efficiently in volunteering to help make Dundee a better place to live.
NEoN creates opportunities for collaboration and spontaneity and will always push beyond expectations. We believe the arts can be a powerful platform for social change, and we strive to include a multitude of voices and perspectives in the planning and implementation of our artistic work and operations.
