Participants will learn the process of character development from concept to final character artwork. Creating a character is so much more than a nice drawing, the NEoN Character Design workshop will look at what makes a strong successful character and show simple methods that will allow you to implement those techniques in your own work and help you define what area of the creative industries you want to work in!

Web Design

10.30am-12.30pm

Participants in this short workshop will learn about the fundamental building blocks required for making web pages. The roles that HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Graphics play in modern best practice web design will be explained giving a grounding in what lies beneath the surface of the websites we use everyday.

Animation Secrets and Techniques

1pm-3pm

Digital Media and Journalism

1pm-3pm

When you are trying to engage with a busy, demanding audience, how you tell a story can be every bit as important as what the story is about. In this session, it’s not just the words you use, but how you mould them together. For journalists, the opening paragraph is where ‘the game is won or lost’ and the same should apply to you. And it’s simple when you know how. Delegates are invited to bring examples of stories they have written or would like to write, for honest but friendly feedback and advice
