Workshops are aimed at those who have some or no qualifications in this area and are looking for an introduction/starting point.
We will also provide further education course information.
You will attend one morning session and one afternoon session then all participants will come together for the final session.
Saturday 13th November
Morning Workshops (select one) :
Participants will learn the process of character development from concept to final character artwork. Creating a character is so much more than a nice drawing, the NEoN Character Design workshop will look at what makes a strong successful character and show simple methods that will allow you to implement those techniques in your own work and help you define what area of the creative industries you want to work in!
Afternoon Sessions (select one) :
Animation Secrets and Techniques
Learn how to create animation and bring your ideas to life. Using simple equipment you will learn how the larger animation studios work using time honoured tips, tricks and techniques to create TV classic cartoons such as Top Cat and Yogi Bear.
Digital Media and Journalism
When you are trying to engage with a busy, demanding audience, how you tell a story can be every bit as important as what the story is about. In this session, it’s not just the words you use, but how you mould them together. For journalists, the opening paragraph is where ‘the game is won or lost’ and the same should apply to you. And it’s simple when you know how. Delegates are invited to bring examples of stories they have written or would like to write, for honest but friendly feedback and advice
All participants attend:
Online CV’s and Professional Profiles
Tips and advice on how to create your own online professional profile, advertising your skills and qualifications to prospective employers. We will also help you develop a CV and introduce you to websites and organisations who offer opportunities within the Digital Sector.
Where: Arts, Media and Computer Games Institute
