What does it mean to be Digitally Ethical?
NEoN Digital Arts (SCIO) advocates for digital technology while tackling digital poverty and mitigating against digital damage’ to mental health, personal safety and the environment.
‘Digital detoxing’ is an integral aspects of our mission. Through programming, NEoN seeks to not only make digital art and technology more accessible, but enhance our understanding of it by acknowledging the impact of technology on society today at the same time.
We deliver workshops as well as exhibitions and events around digital literacy for primary, secondary schools and community groups. We enjoy collaborating with digital artists, other charities and the public, to promote our vision and values.
Our Digital Themes
What is Digital Detox?
Detox involves taking a break from electronic devices like smartphones, computers, tablets, and social media. Its aim is to reduce stress, foster mindfulness, and encourage healthier habits by stepping away from the constant flow of digital content and distractions prevalent in today’s society.
What is Digital Safety?
Digital Safety involves looking out for yourself and your information while using the internet and digital devices. It’s all about taking steps to keep your personal data, privacy, and online security safe from cyber threats, identity theft, and other risks like online harassment or data breaches.
What is Digital Climate Action?
Digital Climate Action is all about reducing the environmental impact of our digital habits and embracing sustainability in the digital world. This means cutting down on energy use, reducing electronic waste, and choosing eco-friendly options. It also involves opting for refurbished electronics and finding creative ways to repurpose e- waste, which helps to reduce our carbon footprint and supports a circular economy.
