Join us for a specially curated evening tour of some of the highlights of the festival featuring happenings and conversations with selected artists. Refreshments will be provided throughout.
The tour begins at Generator Projects and will visit the Weave Group Exhibition, The Travelling Gallery and some of our other highlights.
6:00pm Generator Projects – With food provided by Diaré Drammeh, see the exhibitions Genetic Automata & Sensor and there will be an opportunity to interact with Sensor while the artist, Toby Jackson, will be present.
7:00pm Perth Road – We will take a stroll past ‘Take (to) the Streets‘, an outdoor exhibition featuring the work of local emerging artists who are reclaiming the streets with posters which address this year’s theme.
7:30pm Steeple Church – Enjoy some Anti-capitalist biscuits whilst debating Steve Lambert’s question Capitalism Works for Me! True/False
8:00pm Travelling Gallery – Learn about Day of Access, a powerful campaign which encourages estates to open their land to allow access for people affected by disability, featuring work by Alec Finlay.
8:30pm Wellgate Shopping Centre – at our final stop enjoy refreshments and check out our group exhibition Re:Make/Re:Sist, curated by Weave at Abertay, that brings together emerging and established digital artists/activists whose work comments, reflects and challenges ideas relating to socio-political issues and events.
9:00pm Continuing in the same space, Curator Clare Brennan will be in conversation with artist Irene Tokini Fubara-Manuel about her artwork Dreams of Disguise which features in the exhibition. This talk forms part of the Weave by Abertay’s ‘Platform’ series, which brings creative practitioners to Dundee to discuss their work.
