Mini Symposium

Academics and arts practitioners interested in spaces, both real and virtual, are invited to join us for a mini-symposium at Dundee Contemporary Arts on Friday, November 11, from 10 AM to 4 PM. This gathering offers a chance to discuss the themes of the festival in depth, and also provoke questions and discussion with featured artists. After a keynote lecture, pairs of artists involved in the festival will discuss their practices and theorize their work in relation to the theme. From the real space of Dundee surrounding us to simulated and gaming spaces, a wide range of perspectives on the topic of space will be brought together to illuminate unexpected commonalities.

NEoN is thrilled to annouce our morning keynote lecture will be from Ruari Glynn, director of the Interactive Architecture Lab at the Bartlett School of Architecture (UCL) and our afternoon keynote from DJCAD’s Anna Notaro on media cities.
