hidden route theatre company, theatre-artist Hayley Blakeman and NEoN Digital Arts Festival are collaborating on an exciting new project this Autumn. Taking Space: Digital will work with women and girls from across Dundee’s communities to creatively explore women’s safety in digital spaces. Through a series of creative workshops three groups will work with three artists to discuss, debate, question and create their own artistic digital provocations which will be shared with the city via striking pieces of public art as part of NEoN Digital festival in NovemberYou will also be able to see their story on our online festival platform in the community space. About the Artists Hidden Route is a theatre company based in Dundee and work across Scotland. They explore the unexpected and collaborate with people to make incredible things happen through exciting, engaging and empowering participatory theatre experiences and performance. Gemma Nicol & Lisa Williamson are co-Artistic directors of hidden route. Collectively they have been working within the participation sector for over twenty years. Hayley Blakeman is a theatre maker based in Dundee. She specialises in working alongside communities and creating spaces with those that are participating feel a sense of belonging and purpose. She is interested in creating theatre that explores the untold stories of lived experiences and asking questions about how we can build a better society for us all to live. Hayley has over 12 years experience working in the creative industries and enjoys collaborating across the art balls with different practitioners and communities.
